Engagd represents a significant milestone for the Attention Economy.

Attention Data is currently quietly collected about users, used without their knowledge or explicit consent and trapped inside individual websites and applications.

Engagd represents the first open-standards based Attention Platform designed to empower users to control their own personal Attention Profiles, and developers to quickly and easily add Attention Awareness to their applications and mashups.

  • Who owns Engagd?
    Engagd is owned by Faraday Media. Faraday Media is a company dedicated to paying attention to Attention. It is also dedicated to protecting user rights by providing tools and services that empower users to take control of their Attention Data and use it for their own personal benefit.
     

  • So you want to take control of everyone's Attention Data?
    No way! In most cases Engagd will not know any identifying information about 3rd party users. We simply offer functionality for creating and remixing Attention Data.

    We want to offer the community (particularly early adopters and developers) a way to realize the core principals of the AttentionTrust. That is:
     

    • Property: You own your attention and can store it wherever you wish. You have CONTROL.
       
    • Mobility: You can securely move your attention wherever you want whenever you want to. You have the ability to TRANSFER your attention.
       
    • Economy: You can pay attention to whomever you wish and receive value in return. Your attention has WORTH.
       
    • Transparency: You can see exactly how your attention is being used. You can DECIDE who you trust.
       
  • How much does it cost?
     For personal or low-volume use via the web user interface or APIs Engagd is free. For high-volume/commercial use, please contact us.
     
  • I'm a programmer, how can I use Engagd?

  • What is APML and how do I use it?
    APML stands for Attention Profiling Markup Language. It is an open standard for storing a profile of user interests. Learn more at www.apml.org
