Technology

Particls learns what you care about and ranks incoming information against that 'Attention Profile' in order to make a presentation decision for incoming content. It does this by using a number of key technology pieces that include:

Universal AttentionData Reader (U-AR)

Convert multiple sources of Attention Data into an APML file

Attention Data comes in many forms including OPML, email, IM conversations, Attention.XML, Word/PDF documents, browser history, bookmarks and more. Converting that data into a compressed Attention Profile (APML Format) can be a daunting task. Particls's A-UR technology does just that.

Inferred Applicability to Me (I-AM)

Compare incoming content against an APML file in order to return a "Personal Relevancy Value"

APML describes a user's ranked interests. I-AM uses this Attention Profile, as well as information from other sources, to determine and return a value representing the relevance of content to the user.
